Love: My Little Magic Box!

Love: My Little Magic Box!

For just over a year now I have been subscribed to My Little Box and is the only subscription box I am subscribed too. They just offer something a little different including beautiful illustrations, beauty and skincare samples, and other lifestyle bits and bobs! When I opened this months box I thought it was the perfect time to start sharing what I get every month.

My Little Magic Box!

This month was all about the magic of Christmas and is by far one of my favourite boxes! Filled with so many gorgeous items I was so excited to try everything out.

In this months box it included a lovely illustration which I feel sums up the end of the year, as well as a very nice cosmetic purse in a midnight blue, a Rituals body cream in a refreshing orange scent, two nail polishes great for the festive season, a bright lipgloss from Too Faced, loose tea from Kusmi, and a pair of mittens that match the colour of the purse.

The bright pink lipgloss from Too Faced is highly pigmented and felt really silky when I applied it to my hand. This colour isn’t something that I would usually pick up but think it will be great for the New Year and seeing it in!

With this box I really think you are getting your value for money and look forward to using everything. I’m also excited to see what next year’s boxes have to bring, as well as them adding Ren into the mix!

Hope you all have a magical christmas!

Love: Homemade Hot Chocolate

Love: Homemade Hot Chocolate

As it is the festive season I thought there were no better time to come up with a hot chocolate recipe. Unfortunately for me I am allergic to many of the hot chocolate powders that are already made up, however this does give me the opportunity to discover other brands!

When I wanted to do this post I wanted to find something I could melt in with milk and so discovered Hasslacher’s Colombian Hot Drinking Chocolate. This had no added ingredients and is 100% cacao which is the main ingredient in chocolate. Buying it in this format enables you to completely design your own hot chocolate which is exactly what I did.

You will need per person*:

1 cup of milk
2 disks of the cacao
2 teaspoons of golden granulated sugar
flavourings of your choice
whipped cream
marshmallows
(by cup I mean pour out each portion of milk in a mug/cup so you can get the exact measurements)
*This is all down to personal preference, but this is how I find that I like making my hot chocolate.

Whisk
saucepan

  1. Start by pouring in the milk and adding the cacao disks to a medium heat and whisk together. It is important to use a whisk to incorporate the chocolate with the milk.
  2. Add the sugar and any flavourings such as vanilla or cinnamon. I love adding cinnamon to make it all christmassy but I also enjoy making it plain and adding toppings.IMG_0273
Ensure that you taste the hot chocolate to get the flavourings and sweetness correct. You may find that you want to add more sugar.
This is what it should look like when it is done.

Then just pour your hot chocolate back into your mug and add cream and marshmallows to decorate! You can also sprinkle cinnamon over the cream which is yummy, as well as adding a shot of coffee to turn it into a mocha.
Of course you can also leave it plain and it will still taste delicious! What I love so much about this kind of hot chocolate is that you know exactly what you are adding so you can make it as healthy or luxurious as you like! I hope you enjoy making it in the festive season and Merry Christmas!

Love: Neom

~Scent to make you feel good~

IMG_0217

For anyone who knows me they will know that I am a massive candle lover! My favourites are fresh and natural scents that aren’t too sickly sweet and love brands such as Cowshed and The White company and I can now add Neom to that list.

Before when I used to see Neom candles I wouldn’t go near them because I always thought they were rather expensive… but when I was in John Lewis the other day I came across the mini candles that I could kind of justify paying for as I loved the smell so much.

The candle I picked up is called Lavender, Jasmine and Brazilian Rosewood and it smells incredible! Within 5 minutes the whole room smells of the scent and creates a lovely and relaxing environment.

From buying the mini candle it also had a small leaflet explaining about Neom and the candles:

After reading all this it started to make me realise that these candles were not about being a highly priced product but a candle that has had a lot of time and effort in it to make something that had a lot of added benefits.

I burn my candle every night before I go to bed and it just smells wonderful. The benefits within this candle is supposed to aid with sleep with the use of 19 essential oils. Lavender plays a big part in the aid of relaxing the mind and body and is one of my favourite scents.

The cute minis also make great gift ideas and there is a great range to choose from; as well as Neom selling lots of other goodies such as oils, scrubs, and diffusers.

If you want to learn more about the candles then you can visit www.neomorganics.com/wellbeing

Next up for me is one of their giant candles and one of their relaxing treatments!
